Who knew Silent Night was inspired by mice

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 by MONTA MONIQUE SAID | EASY PLAY PIANO CHRISTMAS MUSIC

Did you know the beautiful song, Silent Night was written in the tiny church of Arnsdorf in Austria? In fact, late one night the parish priest was stunned to find that the mice had eaten at taken a big bite out of the bellows on the organ.

Both the organist and the priest were frustrated by the lack of music available for midnight Mass. Lucky for us, when the organist Franz Gruber heard the words written by this parish priest in 1818 the day before Christmas Eve, he set them to this lovely piece we've all come to know and love.
